Our
Sailcloth - The Finest Money Can Buy
|
We
are currently using American Made High Modulus
Challenge Sailcloth which
are high end cruising or
high performance racing fabrics. Did you know
that Challenge
Sailcloth is owned by Bob Bainbridge,
a former owner of
Howe & Bainbridge Sailcloth, and by Dr. Terry
Cronburg, former Research and Development Director
and "The brains behind Bainbridge Sailcloth" (Sailor
Magazine, 1985)? The company boasts two
of the best sailcloth minds in the world, and
our goal
is to ... deliver the best sailcloth to you.
Our High
Modulus Challenge Sailcloths feature
tight weaves of very high
counts of warp yarns, and highest modulus, highest shrink
Dacron® 52
or Honeywell (AlliedSignal) 1W70 fill
yarns in most weights (where available) These
superior fibers (the
finest that money can buy) best resist high
leech loads
in Crosscut Sails.
High Modulus Weaves compare extremely favorably
to the
top constructions made by our competitors, who
use little to no
Dacron 52 and 1W70. We offer Challenge
Sailcloth in
the following weights:
